A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF) and the Bangladesh Tanners Association (BTA) on October 27, 2024, at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka.
The MoU outlines a comprehensive future action plan designed to enhance cooperation and improve implementation strategies across the sector. This partnership is poised to play a crucial role in addressing the challenges faced by the industry and promoting ethical practices that benefit both workers and the environment.
The signing ceremony was attended by key stakeholders, including the BTA Chairman, the Executive Director of BLF, factory owners from the BTA, and representatives from Mondiaal FNV and the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI), reflecting a collective commitment to advancing labor standards and environmental practices in tannery operations.
